Combining our leadership in clean energy production with social and environmental responsibility projects, we have completed our project in Söke, aimed at examining the potential effects of wind turbines on honey production by bees.
We continue to stand out with our nature-friendly projects and meticulous efforts in evaluating environmental impacts. As part of Turkey’s first “Beekeeping Activities Monitoring and Support Project,” we examined the effects of wind turbines on bee colonies in the Söke Wind Power Plant area.
Field observations, feedback from beekeepers, and comparative measurements revealed no evidence that noise and vibrations from wind turbines negatively impact the honey production performance of bees. Observations conducted on hives placed beneath the turbines and at lower altitudes showed that bee colonies continue honey production in a healthy manner. These findings will serve as a foundation for more comprehensive scientific studies in the future.
Additionally, as part of the project, we organized training programs for the local community in Söke to promote and develop beekeeping. These programs provided both theoretical and practical training on colony health, nutrition, and maintenance, as well as information on the marketing and sale of bee products.
With a strong commitment to preserving nature’s balance in renewable energy production, we continue to contribute to the future through sustainable projects that support the conservation and enhancement of biodiversity.
